Our Cuisine – BREAKFAST
West Cork is known as the food capital of Ireland and we believe in using the finest and freshest produce in our breakfast menu.
Our eggs are locally sourced from organically fed, free roaming chickens. We have carefully chosen sausages that are produced by a local butcher from outdoor reared, Irish pigs and have a high meat, low fat content and contain a selection of locally grown herbs.
The bacon we use is sourced locally from the award winning Gubbeen farm and produced from outdoor reared, Irish pigs. Try the black pudding which has been specially selected from another local butcher O ‘Donoghue’s, who uses an age old traditional ‘Sneem’ recipe. Our white pudding is sourced from the famous Caherbeg farm, in neighbouring Rosscarbery.
Mushrooms and tomatoes are also locally sourced from our local organic produce store, Organico.
The smoked salmon has been specially chosen from another award-winning supplier, Union Hall, who pride themselves in having the finest smoked salmon with its world renowned flavour.
We create a ‘Breakfast in a glass’ from Organico granola, fresh berries and natural yogurt, a great way to start the day. In addition, cereals, fresh milk, yogurt and fruit juices are available. Bread, croissants and pastries are freshly baked daily, and there is a selection of cured meats, salami and local cheeses. In season, our fresh fruit selection will contain apples from our very own orchard.
We have personally selected some great teas and coffees, the famous ‘Barry’s’ Irish tea and a selection of ‘Pukka’ breakfast and herbal teas. The coffee we have chosen is fresh, hand roasted gourmet coffee from the Cork Coffee Roasters, the artisan producer of premium hand roasted coffees.
Dietary requirements can be accommodated. If you can give us 48 hours’ notice, we will endeavour to fully facilitate your request.
We endeavour to provide organic produce whenever possible.
LUNCH
Your plans for the day will dictate where you might be at lunch time. You may be fully satisfied from your delicious breakfast, or you may not be able to resist the fine selection of local lunch venues, or fine restaurants.
If you would like a packed lunch we can recommend a selection of places which you may visit and select, or maybe you would like to pre-order and have it ready for collection. If you would like to pre-order it is advisable to give plenty of notice.
DINNER
Bantry has a wide variety of excellent award winning restaurants which we would be happy to recommend and book for you. There is a selection of talented chefs in Bantry who have been drawn to the area because of the fine assortment of high quality organic produce grown and reared locally.
These restaurants are extremely popular and reasonably priced so advanced booking is essential. Please call or email us ahead at Seafort and we can organise reservations for you. Sample menus are in each room in the Guest Information book.
